Summer Reading Program Info

This year we are initiating a program designed to get kids reading over the summer, and to demonstrate that we are all part of a reading community, consisting of both students and adults.

Here’s how it works: We have asked faculty and staff to commit to reading one book this summer. All students entering grades 6-8 are required to read one of the books from this list between now and the end of September. Once you have read your book, you must complete this brief form with questions about the book you read (make a copy and save to your Google Drive – if you aren’t sure how to do that, print a paper copy for now and then we will help you create the digital copy in the fall). In October, staff members will lead a reading circle discussion on one day during TA period with the students who read their same book. Each student will receive a grade in the fall quarter from your LA teacher for reading the book, completing the questions, and participating in the reading circle discussion.
